Not every summer memory needs a plan!

Some of the best ones happen right in the middle of an ordinary day

when you decide to turn something simple into something fun.

A puppet show might not sound like much at first…
but give it a few minutes, a little creativity, and the right energy!

It becomes a full-on experience your child won’t forget.

It’s playful. It’s easy. And it’s one of those moments where everyone gets to laugh, create, and just enjoy being together.

You don’t need anything fancy to make this work.

Grab a few socks, paper bags, small toys, or anything you have around the house.
Let your child choose what they want to use and turn them into characters.

The more they feel like it’s theirs, the more excited they’ll be.

Ask a simple question:

“What is your show about?”

That’s it.

It doesn’t have to make sense.
It doesn’t have to follow a plan.

It can be silly, random, dramatic, or change halfway through.

Let it.

This is where their imagination takes over, and where the fun really starts.

This is where it starts to feel like something special.

You can keep it simple by sitting behind a couch or using a table…
or take it up a level with something a little more fun.

Grab a cardboard box and turn it into a mini stage.
Cut out a window, decorate it, and let your child design their own “theater.”

Now it’s not just play..it’s a performance!

Let them take the lead… and then jump in with them.

Use funny voices.
Add sound effects.
Make your puppet do something unexpected.

Let yourself be a little silly! That’s what makes it fun for them!

You can even switch roles and let them watch your version of the show.

When they’re ready, take it one step further.

They can:

Perform their show for family

Put on a “live show” at home

Or record it and watch it back together

Seeing their ideas come to life, and being celebrated for it, makes the moment feel even bigger.

At the end, clap!
Laugh!
Talk about your favorite parts!

Ask them questions about their characters or what might happen next.

You don’t need to rush off to the next thing...let the moment sit for a minute.

That’s the part they’ll remember.

You don’t need a packed schedule to create meaningful moments.

Sometimes all it takes is a little creativity, a few minutes, and the decision to turn an ordinary day into something fun.

Because in the end, it’s not about how much you did…it’s about the memories you created together!
